Management Skills and Organizational Behavior

The aim of this course is to provide students with the capacity to analyze and take action on human capital, the primary resource of companies. It targets those who understand or want to understand psychology applied to the work setting at the individual, group and organizational levels. The main objective of the course is to introduce the general principles of psychology as applied to management behavior. We will use discussions to help advance our thinking about these questions — that is, first how to manage people, but more importantly how to create work that brings out the potential of people in organizations.

Concerning Knowledge, at the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Describe the business person’s characteristics that modulate motivation and performance at work
  • Identify the characteristics of working groups and the phenomena associated with their efficiency
  • Recognize the main components of organizational culture

Concerning Skills, at the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Be able to analyze the key attributes that determine our own behavior at work, more specifically within a management position
  • Understand your contribution to the working group and develop your team work skills
  • Improve skills in providing a diagnosis of working group and organization dysfunctions
